BIO
Christina Maria grew up on the island of Cyprus where she became involved in professional musicals from the age of 6, and by 15 had taken the lead role in an original English musical that toured Europe and had a second run 6 years later. At the age of 16 she discovered a new love for jazz music when she had the opportunity to perform with NYJO (The National Youth Jazz Orchestra-UK) when they visited Cyprus, and then shortly after, moved to the UK and studied at The Academy Of Contemporary Music for a year.
Christina Maria, forever wanting to expand her knowledge in music, then spent a year as joint lead singer in an r&b/pop girl group, during which they were supporting act for US artists Marques Houston and Lloyd, and had their own short tour.
After leaving the group Christina Maria found a new passion for acoustic, piano, and organic music - “singing with just the sounds of a guitar or piano and strings can completely change the emotional atmosphere of a track, and bring a whole new meaning and dimension to the listener”.
The knowledge and experience Christina Maria collected from being involved in so many different genres of music throughout her life, has shaped her unique sound today, and her performance is a must see experience for all!
Christina Maria is currently putting together an EP of raw acoustic and piano led songs, which for the very first time, will all be written and produced herself. This will be available to download this summer!
